22 to 1 Tom’s Tips and Analysis

R3 TOYOTA FORKLIFTS FRANK PACKER PLATEΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β Β  2000m 3 OPEN G3Β Β Β Β Β

6 – Sigiriya Rock

He won third up before in his seven-race career, but that was a maiden race at 1600m. He has raced at this distance and came in second by half a length from an outside post position. Based on his last two races, he is improving, and adding distance will help his chances.

2 – Firm Agreement

He’s finished second in his last two races, one at this track and the other at Rosehill. The latter was a Group 3 race at this distance, while the previous was at 2400m. He comes from off the pace and has worked well to finish in those races, but not well enough. He’s more suited for this level at this time.

1 – Swiftfalcom

In eleven races, he has won three and placed six times. In his last three races, he has finished third at 1600m and 2000m. The best comment I found was that he lacks the killer blow. He will run late, but he is better suited as a runner-up than a winner.

4 – Shangri La Spring

Speed in the race with a chance to hold on for a placing.

2 – Bois D’Argent

A veteran of thirty-three races, with fourteen at this distance, he’s won or placed ten times. At Rosehill, in his last start, he was able to go but didn’t and ran sixth in a Group Two race. Previous to that race, he ran second at 1800m with issues in the running of the race. Third Up today, he has won in the past, and the distance suits.

11 – Sounds of Heaven

She raced seven days ago in group one, showed interest early in the race, offered not much after, and ran eleventh. The winner was Fangirl. Quick turnaround and facing the males today, but showed reasonable effort in the previous race, a Group Two at Rosehill, running second at 1900m. She should be forwardly placed, and let’s see if there’s enough to finish strongly.

6 – New Endeavour

Ran second last time at 1500m at Rosehill but only beat the rest of the field and had no chance of getting to the winner. In his first-up race this season, he showed promise with a nice late run, finishing sixth in a Group Two race. Adds distance today and has two starts, with placings in both. He is in with a chance if he continues to improve.

9 – Spicy Lu

Undefeated filly who beat a few of these horses before. The comment was “too good” and she “gear changes”. This showed me that she has matured quickly and is a strong 2yo. She fought to the end in one race and won by less than a lengthβ€”the one to beat.

12 – Next Jen

She had too much to do in her last race, being the widest running to get fifth against a few of these horses. The comments indicate that she was a bit “green” in her winning effort in her first start. But in the latest race, she had to cover too much ground.

1 – State Visit

He ran a strong race last time but was beaten by less than half a length. He has raced three times and is only a maiden winner, but he has a second and third in group races. The stewards said he would be ridden more forwardly in the last race. He’s only run on the good going and should be able to run well again.

R8 SCHWEPPES ALL AGED STAKES 1400mΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β  OPEN G1Β

14 – Broadsiding

Horse is using a barrier trial as prep for this race, and he ran 1200m running fourth. He won his last race going 2000m at Rosehill in a Group 1; it was a tight finish. He is a 3yo with fourteen races, but what interests me in betting this horse is his record at today’s distance, with a record of four starts, three wins, and one placing.

8 – Belclare

She is a veteran of this distance with twenty-four starts, nine wins, and six placings. She is entering this race off a barrier trial win, and what caught my eye is who she beat: Alligator Blood, a Group One winner. Even though she is coming from New Zealand and is 7 years old, she seems ready to handle this competition and has experience at this distance.

1 – Antino

I am going to disregard his last race; it was at 1600m at Sha Tin against a very strong field. He finished second at Flemington at 1600m and has won at this distance. He has performed reasonably well at this distance with seven starts, three wins, and one placing. This is a first-up; his record is outstanding with six starts and four wins. If he is ready, he will put forth a respectable effort.

R9 TAB HALL MARK STAKES 1200m 3U OPEN G3

2 – Givemethebeatboys

He won his barrier trial as prep for this race, but he hasn’t raced well in his last two outings. In both races, he appeared tired, and now, with 42 days off, it should help. He’s competed at the group three level with three starts, two wins, and a placing in the other race. He won three out of ten at this distance. I am relying on the effort in the barrier trial, suggesting he is ready for a strong performance.

10 – Xidaki

He has been off for 125 days and returns running third in his barrier trial. He has never won at this distance, but he has placed four times in five runs. First up, he ran three times and placed three times. He will need a race before he wins, but he does run well fresh.

9 – General Salute

He won his last two starts at this distance. The last win was at Rosehill against group three horses, and the race before that, he won at the benchmark 94 level in a quick time and by over two and a half lengths. The comment I like to see was “He was a level above these horses, and he proved it in his next start. The hot horse to see what the better think.
