Rich’s Ranks
Race 1 – 5 ½ Furlongs, 34 Races, 26 won by speed, 12 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, 2/3 bonus, 4-7 bigger discount, 8+ no winners yet
2 – SUPER ROCKER – showed some early octane in debut, gets first time Lasix and drops from MSW
5 – CATCHHIMANDFREEHIM – got out of the gate in a hurry in his debut, faded, gets 1st Lasix and has a work between starts, MSW dropper too
4 – DAGDA – improved fractions, held speed longer in his second start – running at same level
7 – FREDDYNESS – also a MSW dropper, fired out of the gate, faded too but n Lasix here, which I believe gives the first to picks an edge, like that he has a maintenance work between starts
Race 2 – 1 Mile 70 Yards, 21 races, 17 won by speed, 6 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, big discount 2/3, 4+ overperform
5 – SHOOT THEMESSENGER – left arrow horse that should be close to the pace, better EP#s and fractions last out, jy wins at 3%, trainer at 4%
1A – HEARTNESS – goes back to dirt after giving grass a go, while he didn’t like turf, first ¼ and ½ mile fractions were faster, bullet work since, maybe tr Jamie Ness used that race to get to this race?
4 – HEFFNER – probably another I’d rather see run on a wet track, fast 8/0-2-2, LP improvement in last, maybe better in 2nd DP start
6 – SNOW CANDY – has some back speed, maybe it helps on the stretch out
Race 3 – 5 ½ Furlongs, 34 Races, 26 won by speed, 12 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, 2/3 bonus, 4-7 bigger discount, 8+ no winners yet
3 – REBEL CONSORT – got to try and beat likely low odds favorites, looking back at the May 17th, 3f 36.2 work and then a June 25th 3f of 36.4, surrounded by maintenance works
7 – GOLDEN NEVE – finished 2nd as the 90 cent favorite in debut, would have liked to see a work between starts
6 – SHELL BELLE – probably going to take plenty of money because of tr Jamie Ness, but he underperforms with 1st timers and maiden claimers relative to his overall win rate of 30, good workouts though
4 – QUANTICO CREEK – most expensive horse in the field at 45K, workouts are OK, but it’s hard to make a case for any of the rest to win
Race 4 – 5 ½ Furlongs, 34 Races, 26 won by speed, 12 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, 2/3 bonus, 4-7 bigger discount, 8+ no winners yet
4 – REVOLUTIONARY ROAD – LS – has a decent EP edge over the other E horses, speed of the speed, better fractions last out, dropping in class, ships in from Laurel, track drop…
1 – HIGH FIVE COTTON – if the 3 E horses go too fast, this 8 yo will be licking his chops, we’ll call him a Little Red Riding Hood horse, my grandma what fast fractions you have, yes, the better to pass you with
6 – GREEN GROWTH – better ATB in last, better fractions, but hasn’t won lately without the lead, EP# numbers say he could be a length+ behind the 4 at the 1/4
2 – WHIRLIN CURLIN – he has the top LP for this group
Race 5 – 1 Mile 70 Yards Turf, 15 races, 12 won by speed, 6 w2w – PP: strong inside 3 bias, 4+ gets worse the farther from the rail
5 – MULSANNE – 1st start since October 23rd, 17f of works since June 11th, has the top LP and could show a lot of improvement in her 4yo debut – MSW to MCL – note jy Carol Cedeno off the 7 to ride here
6 – FEVER DREAMING – Biggest MSW to MCL dropper, 1st start with tr Brittany Russell, hits at 30%, last race was terrible, decent work between races
2 – SILVER SEA – the last of the MSW to MCL droppers, trainer Arnaud Delacour hits 41% MSW to MCL, rides the 27% win rate rail, better 2f#s last out
7 – LISA MARIE – TLRSP#, just missed with strong late push, but fractions were a little slower despite cutback in distance
Race 6 – 1 Mile 70 Yards, 21 races, 17 won by speed, 6 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, big discount 2/3, 4+ overperform
1 – V. I. P. CODE – has won 3 of 4 at DP, distance 7/6-0-0, better in the 1st half mile of last race
6 – PETULANT DELIGHT – leading jy Mychel Sanchez moves to the 6 from the 2, top EP and improved LP aggressively in last, win by 11, 1st a DP
2B – TITAN’S WILL – has some back speed, last race was considerably better at the end
4 – TAPPIN FOR GLORY – 3 wins in 7 at DP, just 1 win in 16 elsewhere
Race 7 – Race 5 – 1 Mile 70 Yards Turf, 15 races, 12 won by speed, 6 w2w – PP: strong inside 3 bias, 4+ gets worse the farther from the rail
6 – BLOWING BIG SMOKE – has the top EP and LP, can’t pass what you can’t catch
3 – DAMIR – drops in class and should be the pacesetter and most of the time you want forward horses in short fields
5 – PAPA JIMMY – resume says should be near peak in his 3rd start after a layoff
2 – SOAKING WET – ships in from Tampa has occasional flashes of good races
Race 8 – 5 ½ Furlongs, 34 Races, 26 won by speed, 12 w2w – PP: slight discount rail, 2/3 bonus, 4-7 bigger discount, 8+ no winners yet
6 – LISCOLVIN – should get the lead where speed matters and is taking the biggest MSW drop, decent works between races
7 – FISHERS – flashed speed last out and improved 2/4f pace #s with a little better fractions
5 – CANDAR – is the 2nd biggest MSW dropper, switching from turf to dirt and has 2 strong works since her last
1 – HALEIGH B was the favorite in her debut, headed to the sidelines afterwards some really strong works followed by a couple of maintenance works
