22 to 1 Tom’s Sha Tin Tips

Hong Kong Vase – Race 4

Ebaiyra

10 starts 4 wins 3 seconds 1 third

Always in the money at distance races of 2200m or better

Frontrunner, does her best work on or near the lead

Last race at Deauville, 2000m running 6th to Grand Glory (she just ran 5th in the Japan Cup)

Winner at the group 2 and 3 level, no group 1 wins but distance has been shorter than 2100m, longer race, better results

Has preferred a soft surface but has won on good to soft

Pyledriver

13 starts 6 wins 2 seconds 1 third

5 runs and 3 wins at distances greater than 2200m

Group 1 winner at Epsom at 2400m

Top weight in last race at Lingfield (AW) and won at 2000m

Lightly raced this season with only 3 runs

Runs on any type of surface

Glory Vase

16 starts 5 wins 4 seconds 1 third

Won this race in 2019 with Joao Moreira who will ride him again

Awful draw in last race (15) but still managed with run 3rd to runners who competed in the Japan Cup

Only 1 win from 6 tries in group 1 company and that win was at Shi Tin

In the previous start, ran a good second to Loves Only You in group 1

3 wins from 8 tries at distances greater than 2200m

Prefers good to firm going

Hong Kong Sprint – Race 5

Resistencia

12 starts 5 wins 4 seconds 1 third

At 1200m she has 3 starts 1 win 2 seconds, these were group 1 and 2

Strong 2nd last out in group 1, laid off the pace a bit

Speed is her game and she will want the lead but has sat off the pace in recent races with good times and final run in :33.5 and :34 (last won was winning effort)

Gets 4 lbs from all competitors and Christian Soumillion rides for the first time

She has won on firm and yielding tracks

Lucky Patch

17 starts 7 wins 3 seconds 3 thirds (5 wins in Hong Kong)

Winner of last 2 races in group 2 company at 1200m

Zack Purton returns to ride and had a choice of Naboo Attack (who ran second to this horse last time out) or this horse. Top rider in Hong Kong with 23% wins and 52% placing

In last 2 starts, he’s been placed midpack and move within 3L at the top of the straight

1200m is where he does his best running with 11 starts and 6 wins

Prefers the going to be good to firm

Pixie Knight

8 starts 3 wins 2 seconds 1 third

In the money finishes at this distance in 3 starts

Has won group 1 and 3 races (group 3 was a distance of 1600m)

Winner last out vs my top choice

Another horse that appears to like 1200m and has done its best running

Wants a firm track

Hong Kong Mile – Race 7

Golden Sixty

19 starts 18 wins

4 for 4 in group 1 races

Won this race last year

Sits midpack and get moving in time for the win, doesn’t win by wide margins

A winner at distances between 1200m to 2000m

Danon Kingly

13 starts 6 wins 2 second 2 thirds

Races are spaced apart and first up after a layoff, he has 9 starts and 5 wins

Only 1 group 1 win in Japan and that was this year at 1600m in June at Tokyo

Both races this year has been good, the other running 2nd last time out in 1800m race

I his win, he had draw 11 and went the mile in 1:31.7, WOW

2 works on the AW of :35.1 and :32.8 shows fitness for me

Excellent Proposal

14 starts 7 wins 2 seconds

Raced first in Australia (winning 3 races) before coming to Hong Kong

He’s been running in handicap races against group winners, moves up here but has one of the top trainers in Hong Kong places him in this race

At the 1600m, he has 3 runs 1 win 2 seconds

He runs late, so any pace up front will only help this horse

Wins on good to firm conditions

Works have been on the AW and generally very fast, 4 works

Hong Kong Cup – Race 8

Loves Only You

15 starts 7 wins 2 seconds 3 thirds

Breeders Cup winner last out in Filly & Mares Turf

She has faced some of the best this year, Mishriff, Glory Vase, Sodashi, Stay Foolish, etc in Dubai, Japan, & US

She’s won the QEII in Hong Kong in 2020 beating a top local horse in Lucky Lilac

Her record at this distance is 4 starts 2 wins 2 seconds

Post should be a issue for her and want firm ground

Works have been on the AWT 4 times were very good, she’s in form

Lei Papale

9 starts 6 wins 1 third

This Japanese runner is 2 for 2 at this distance

Ran ok in the QEII last out at Hanshin and was beaten by 3 big longshots back by on 3L

Good fourth to Win Marilyn, who ran in the Japan Cup, did nothing

Christian Soumillion has the mount, first ride for him because her normal jockey in riding my top choice

Likes any type of going

Works, 2 turf works were fast of :33 and :56.6. Final work was slower on the AW

Dubai Honour

9 starts 4 wins 2 seconds

Not much as a 2 year old but won 3 in a row in 2021 1 handicap and 2 group 2 races

Ran 2nd to Sealiway last out at Ascot on champions day, missing by less than a L with the outside draw

Likes any type of going
