Bets
Race 1: 1 1/16 Miles Turf – Bias: 10 Races – Stalkers with an 8+ Edge
Off Turf – 1 1/16 Miles AW – Bias: Stalkers, 2+ Fair with a Rail Discount
2 – MEDIA SENSATION – Tie TLRSP# and just missed in 1st go at this level in last with better 2/4f pace#s, tr Kathleen O’Connell hits 23% 2nd time with a horse vs 12% overall –
3 – CHEF MENTEUR – 3SP# increases, looks like grass is the right surface 4/0-2-1, 8/0-2-0 on dirt or AW
10 – CHENTI – biggest class dropper in the race, key is the start, if he breaks sharply and competes for the lead early on, strong chance that drop pays off
5 – PLAYERO – really consistent performer going to try grass for the 1st time after the first 5 on AW – two OK turf works class dropper with +7 LP edge
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 2,3/2,3,10/2,3,5,10,11
Race 2: 1 1/16 Miles AW – Bias: Stalkers, 2+ Fair with a Rail Discount
7 – SILENT CHAOS – first off the claim for tr Murant Sancal – 22% vs 17% overall – adding blinkers – to get off to a better start or experimenting?
4 – CHARMING CHARLIE – may not look like in the PPs, but could be involved from the start and run quicker fractions last out
5 – SUMMER SHANDEE – winner of two in a row after winning 1 of first 12, 4SP# increases, the trend is your friend until the trend breaks
6 – PIPITO – lone P horse without a lot of EP to chase, sits patiently right behind the leaders and then tries to run by in the stretch
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 4,7/4,5,7/2,4,5,6,7
Race 3: 5 ½ Furlongs AW – Bias: Early Speed, 1-7 Fair with a Slight 8+ Bonus
5 – UBIQUITOUS – is hit or miss coming off the break, a couple of really good works say a hit could be in store – won his only 5 1/2f on turf with ease – you’ll know if he is on the lead
3 – BARONE CESCO – Left Arrow horse that upped his 2/4f pace#s in last with TLRSP#
4 – UNIFIED CONQUEST – this is an every other race horse, last was off so this one should be on in the classic 3rd start after a layoff – top LP too
2 – PURE SPEIGHT – tough call over the 6, but this guy is coming back to GP after spending some time in LA – bullet work on Dec 22 says he is glad to be back
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 3,5/3,4,5/2,3,4,5,6
Race 4: 6 Furlongs – Bias: Early Speed – Mostly Fair with Minor Rail Edge – 38% w2w
4 – PERFECT PROVISION – 1st off the claim for tr Edgar Bayed – robust work since, should compete for lead and w2w candidate
5 – SOPHIA’S STORM – flashed some early speed last out and cuts back in distance from 7f to 6f
7 – BULLET ON TAP – going to go with our friend Chantal Sutherland here, TLRPS# getting MCL win in 15th try, but my guess is Chantal had a choice between this and the 1 horse – she’s don’t pull punches
6 – MACHTENHAIRONFIRE – was better ATB in last and should be as good maybe a touch better in round three after a layoff
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 4,5/4,5,7/1,4,5,6,7
Raec 5: 7 ½ Furlongs Turf – Bias: Only 3 Races – 1 w2w – the rest Stalkers, looks like Outside is Best, 8+ OFF Turf
4 – INDY LYON – resume says uptick in performance is possible in second after a layoff – getting Irad helps
1 – CHESS’S DREAM – distance 7/2-2-2, TLRSP# but race cycles hint at small regression in 3rd off the bench
6 – MIDNIGHT HURRICANE-, closed at 5 1/2f in last pair – got a feeling he’s going to love the extra distance – upped SP# in all 3 races after debut
5 – K. C. CHIEF – kind of hard to ignore tr Ruben Gracida winning 12/28 when going from a route to a sprint
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 1,4/1,2,4,6/1,2,4,5,6
Race 6: 1 Mile – Bias: Early Speed, 1-7 Fair with an 8+ Bonus
2 – ROD TWO ROD – ginormous +18 LP edge in a race that could set up perfectly for him without a lot of speed to chase
4 – AZTEC – TLRSP# with better race internals for the second half, regressed only other 3rd up off the break
5 – DOMINICAN ICE – appears to be on the upswing and was considerably better late in his last effort
1 – WALL STREET TRADER – top choice aside, has the highest performance ceiling for this group, will need to be at/near the top of his game as the average race doesn’t get him a top prize
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 2,4/2,4,5/1,2,3,4,5
Race 7: 5 Furlongs AW – Bias: Early Speed, 4+ a Little Better than 1,2,3, with a Rail Penalty
1 – WALKS LIKE A LADY – substantial early race improvement in last with TLRSP#
8 – FUNNY ENOUGH – hasn’t won yet, but increased SP# in every race after debut
5 – I SAID HEY – good sized drop in class and strong at the distance 9/1-5-1
9 – FLIP MY ID – better ATB in last – was first on AW, limited resume says better in race 2 after a layoff
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 1,8/1,5,8/1,3,5,8,9
Race 8: 7 ½ Furlongs Turf – Bias: Only 3 Races – 1 w2w – the rest Stalkers, looks like Outside is Best, 8+ OFF Turf
6 – QUEEN DEYMAR – benefits from the race being moved to AW, TLRSP#, two nice works since last
10 – MOONLIGHT VISION – Tie TLRSP#, missed by a neck in last, major improvement in 2nd career start, similar move forward and easy winner
5 – CLOUD STORAGE – another that benefits from the move to AW – 6/0-3-0
11 – CLOUDY BAY – race internals got better last race, an additional step up and she is very competitive
7 – NAA DUDETTE – has the most LP by a little, late legs tend to
Suggested Wagers: $0.50 Trifecta: 1,8/1,5,8/1,3,5,8,9
