9 – December Diamond – Barrier 5
Going well in last 3 races with 1 win 2 seconds
Was the favorite last out and missed by about 1/2L running at 1800m
She has won at this distance and on the course once before in her only try at 1600m
Has form, can she get the job done at this level?
I think so.
3 – Pizzo – Barrier 2
Won last out at Ipswich going 1500m by almost 2L sitting near the pace
Last 3 runs are all good with 3rd at BM65, 2nd at BM65 and the win at Class 2 level.
Good in the money percentage of 61%
First time at this distance but in form and moves up a bit in class
8 – Tarex – Barrier 8
Since layoff, he’s run 4th at Class 3 level and 5th in BM70 race losing by just over 3L
Moves into this race third race of the season with a record of 2 starts 1 win 1 placing, needs races to get going?
Concern here is that his done this on tracks with moisture in the going
Track rated Good 4 right now but there is rain in the forecast
Level appears correct
Race 5
1 – Kovalica – Barrier 8
Has won the last 3 races at 1600m (2) and 2000m moving from the maiden ranks to qualitiy level race.
Sat off the leader last race which was closer that previous races
Steps up here to group 3 for the first time but is rolling along just fine
Top trainer/Top Jockey with this combination winning at a 28%
8 – Noah ‘N’ A Deel – Barrier 1
Good overall form in last 4 races with 2 wins 1 second 1 third
Raced against my top pick last out and lost by over 2L at 2000m
Adds 100m for this race but will the extra distance help? Maybe because he moved up from 6th position to run 2nd last out.
Jockey will need to establish position early drawing the on the inside.
If he gets an opening, he should be right there at the finish.
6 – Tapildoodledo – Barrier 5
Won maiden 3 races back at Eagle Farms and was placed in quality races at 1600m and 2000m running 5th and then 4th in his last race.
He has been running mid-pack with even runs
Moves up in class but may have needed a couple of runs and more distance helps.
Winner at this course and put a good effort at a good odds
Race 6
1 – Bartholomeu Dias – Barrier 4
Ran 10th of 20 in a group 2 at Randwick at 1600m, he had issues along the rail in the race and may account for the poor effort.
Winner in listed race at Flemington going 1800m running from the back of the field.
He’s been running in various race levels of the past 5 races from Open, Quality, Listed & group 2.
He’s 2 for 2 at Eagle Farm and winner of 4 of 5 at this distance or close to today’s race.
He fits nicely here and loves the track and there appears to be plenty of pace up front for him to run at.
4 – Pancho – Barrier 3
Since layoff, the horse ran 4th in an open race, he was bumped at the start
Then came back in next start running 3rd in a listed race.
In the last race, he ran 2nd most of the race and didn’t finish.
3 time is the charm but not a great record 3 up – 6 starts 2 placings
Won at the distance and may finally be coming in form.
3 – Ligulate – Barrier 7
Maybe this is the right spot to get a placing for this horse who’s run 7th last out at 2000m.
Better effort going 2200m at Doomben running 3rd of 5.
He’s done ok at Eagle Farm with 6 starts 1 win 2 placings and at the distance he has running in the money both starts one being a winning effort.
Should go off at good odds and let’s see what he can do verse this bunch.
Race 7
2 – Holyfield – Barrier 5
He won first out in at 1200m in a quick time of 1:07.74 then came back to run 2nd at 1350m at Gold Coast in listed race.
He’s runner style seems to be up toward the lead but has run mid-pack.
There is speed in the race, but I think he will be right up with them.
2 good efforts and has won third up before.
Likes the distance with 13 starts 5 wins 4 placings but never won at Eagle Farms, today maybe a first.
9 – Rainbow Connection – Barrier 9
After layoff, he won at Eagle Farms going 1000m in BM78 in a quick :57
A third at 1200m in next start at the same level.
Last out, ran 2nd at Rosehill again at the same level.
He’s placed in both group 3 and listed races from 2 tries.
Moving up in class and is lightly raced with 10 starts 2 wins 5 placings
5 – Smart Meteor – Barrier 2
First start of the season was ok 5th being in the back of the field.
He used 2 barrier trials to prep for the race.
I like his record second up, 6 starts 2 wins 4 placings
He’s never won at the distance but does well at longer distances.
He’s won twice at Eagle Farms but is he ready to win here?
Placing may make more sense.
Race 8
6 – End Assembly – Barrier 3
2 for 2 winning at 1100m and winning by 5L and 7L at the maiden and BM63 levels
Like most in this field, tons of speed here but racing at Toowoomba I don’t know what level horses he ran against.
First time Winkers and was gelded before his first start.
Continue his winning ways based on his first 2 races.
1 – Spiritualised – Barrier 7
Coming in off a layoff, he ran 3rd vs Open company at Doomben. On the lead all the way until the end. Needed race.
He’s never been out of the money in any of his races.
Likes the 1200m with a record 4 starts 2 wins 2 placings
Steps up in company and should be tough with this group even though there is a ton of speed in this race.
7 – Exo Lady – Barrier 4
One of the more experienced runners in this race, 11 starts 4 wins 2 placings.
4th last out in listed race at Doomben running on the frontend.
She placed in group 2 race and has won 2 listed races
This is a bit of a drop-in class where she’s had success before.
I think she needs to sit behind the speed to have a chance.
Form ok with her speed she will be tough with a better barrier draw.
