Just Tom’s International Horse Racing Tips

Goodwood

1:50 – Race 1

William Hill Prestige Fillies’ Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (2yo) 7f

9 – Queen Olly

3 starts 1 win

Faced males last out with a run for 3rd in group 2 at Newmarket

Ran a disappointing 4th at Royal Ascot in group 3 race for fillies but ran a bit green hanging left in the latter stages of the race

Maiden win was at York at the favorite

First try at 7F should help this horse in running a strong race here

Will she prefer the soft going?

8 – Mottisfont

Won maiden at Ffos Las going 7.5F at big price 20-1 by 1L

Came back to run 3rd in group 3 at Newmarket with some of these other horses

She had some issues in the running of that race and didn’t stay straight by hung left.

Distances isn’t an issue it’s just the matter of getting a good trip to have a chance at the end

1 – Bet Me

She was a mess before the start of the race, broken out in a sweat and not looking her best going down to the post

Came out of the gate going left at the start, got it together and went on to run 4th and a surprising, good run

Won maiden by 4L at Goodwood at 6F, joint favorite prove the best

If she looks better in the paddock and going down to post, she will have a good chance

2:25 – Race 2

William Hill Handicap Cl2 (3yo+) 7f

9 – Able Kane

Last out, ran 3rd in C2 handicap at Newbury. Before he got crushed in the big $$$ handicap at Goodwood

Won at Ffos Las by 6L in small field but it was a nice win

Run back to form here and he will be ready to win again

Good record on soft going, 3 starts 1 win 1 second 1 third

5 – Orbaan

Won at C2 & C3 races this year at 8F & 7F.

Ok run at York vs a decent C2 group with a 4th considering he was held at the back and was asked to go, he did but nowhere to go. Lack room for a clear run

He runs ok on soft going

Distance of 7F is good for a placing and not a winning one with only 1 win

In the money play, win?

11 – Lyndon B

Won last out in C3 company with some placings before

He’s been running in lower company but running at longer distances

He’s only won on good to firm going so soft running is a concern

4:10 – Race 5

William Hill / EBF Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (For horses In Bands B, C and D) (GBB Race) Cl4 (2yo) 6f

6 – Lunarscape

First time starts from a trainer who is winning at 26% rate this season

8 winners for 19 starts and 6 placings with positive ROI of 19.63

Last 14 days, she’s winning at 21% rate

From those numbers, she’s sending ready to go 2yrs to the track and a nice spot for win

My only concern is that she may want longer distances

2 – Keep Bidding

The most experienced 2yr in the field with 3 starts and 2 seconds

Last run on the AW was losing by 1/2L

The other 2 runs were on the turf

Should be near or on the lead and will be the favorite

3 – Lavender Beauty

Ok first-time out race going 3rd in novice race at 22-1

Maybe a little short on conditioning in the race because she was no match for the winner

In a race with unraced horses, she showed a bit of form and one who needed a race

Redcar

5:15 – Race 2

Bakers Tailoring EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (For horses In Bands B/C/D) (EBF Qualifier) (GBB) Cl5 (2yo) 6f

3 – Indian Falcon

First time starter for a trainer who has 14 winners from 46 starters as 2yr

He’s winning at 16% rate with +21.51 positive return

Top 2yr is The Platinum Queen who ran 2nd in the Nunthorpe (a race for 2yrs and up)

Ok breeding and good novice to start the career

1 – Taritino

The only winner in the race and it was at Redcar at 7F

He went off at 11-1 and won in front running style

Assume he will break for the lead and not look back

4 – Kev The Bread

2 starts only one good race running 4th by 13+L

Last start was nothing special, losing by 22L to a group winner

Why pick? Looks as good as any of the others and has some experience.

5:50 – Race 3

Celebrating The Life Of Russ Parker Fillies’ Restricted Novice Stakes (For horses In Band D) (GBB) Cl5 (2yo) 7f

2 – Saleet

Won last time out by a whisker in novice race

Like his other races, a bit green but always in contact with the leaders and ran on to win

Trainers 2yrs winning at 5% rate, so this one winning is positive

With 3 races, she has experience and runs towards the front and will have a chance

4 – Bowleaze

Trainer has 2 winners from 9 starts with 2yrs and paying out over $15

She been sending out horses ready to run and why not here

A class 5 race is a good starting point

Breeding is nothing special

1 – Cite d’Or

2 runs with 1 win in maiden race at 7F in short field at Brighton

Last race a 4th of 5 at Newbury, forwardly placed early in the race, had nothing left at the finish

This was a listed race, so a drop down to this type of a race makes sense

Favorite

6:20 – Race 4

Racing TV Straight Mile Series Handicap (Racing TV Straight Mile Series Qualifier) Cl4 (3yo+ 0-80) 1m

2 – Diamondonthehill

Won at Redcar 2 starts back at 1 mile at class 4 level

Dropped to class 5 last out and ran 2nd with a 6 day turn around

Comes back 15 days of last race into this level again

The race is also a qualifier, so facing the same type of horses

Adds weight penalty because of the win

Both wins are at Redcar, horse for course?

1 – Pisanelio

Drops to class 4 race after running 3rd twice in class 3 races

Both races were close losing by 1/2L and 1 1/4L

Not a great record at Redcar is a negative

But gets the services of a good jockey in Daniel Tudhope winning at 18% this season

Shot on the drop

4 – Cassy O

Hasn’t done much in last 6 races but is getting class relief comping from class 2 & 3 races

Won at this level but this was 2yrs ago

Best race of the last 6 was at Redcar vs Class 3 horses

Take a chance here at a price
