Royal Ascot Horse Racing Tips and Comments

22 to 1 Tom’s International Tips

2:30

Albany Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies) Cl1 (2yo) 6f

13 – Meditate – Draw 4

Won first 2 starts at Naas and the Curragh in very comfortably

Forwardly placed in both races, move to the leader and went on by

Last race was a group3 at 6F

On or near the lead again and looks like a strong contender and should be the favorite

8 – Ibiza Love – Draw 2

Won last out in maiden at Doncaster over 6 1/2F. A very nice wire to wire win.

First start, start issues, ran on nicely but the blown start did her in

Should dispute the lead or be very close and run on for a placing

Looking for some odds and this one has a nice change over 6F

3 – Believing – Draw 11

In her 2 races career she’s had adventures and in the last one the jockey should be nominated ride of the month for James Doyle. Reared at the start, away back to the field losing many lengths, pushed with 2F out, bumped on the turn, hung left and cause issues to other horses and won easily. This went to the steward’s room for discussion. Remember, this is a 2-year-old. AW races for novices.

First run adventuresome to, sat back, and moved up and had some trouble again, ran 2nd without much chance to get to the winner.

Let’s see what adventurous await James Doyle and Believing this time but she’s finished in the money in her 2 starts

3:05

Commonwealth Cup (Group 1) (British Champions Series) Cl1 (3yo) 6f

7 – Go Bears Go – Draw 4

Had the worst of it in last race, stumbled badly out of the gate, move up but the race was over for him at the start.

Previous race at Ascot was 4 horse field and he went wire to wire but did face a challenge with 1F to go and fought I off

Ran second at Del Mar in the BC and ran 2nd last season at Royal Ascot

Toss last, he’s right there and maybe some good odd.

13 – Tiber Flow – Draw 13

Started career on the AW at Newcastle and Southwell all wins at 6F & 7F

Moved up to the AW championship at Newcastle, held to the rear made a run and couldn’t get to the winner, move well at the end but he should have been moving earlier

Last race, won by a head in listed races at 6F on the turf, I liked how he ran that race and the decision to run at Royal Ascot was off that win

Remember that Newcastle AW running 6F and 7F are straight away like Ascot

Big chance at price

9 – Perfect Power – Draw 1

Not much in last, 2000 Guineas at Newmarket at 1 mile, winner won again at Ascot, 1 mile not his distance?

Won at Royal Ascot last season beating Go Bears Go but then lost next out held at the back and never got going

His next 3 races were all wins including one at Deauville, Christophe Soumillon rode for the next 4 starts. Rides again and should be the favorite

3:40

Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes Cl2 (3yo+ 0-105) 1m4f

8 – Just Fine – Draw 7

One race this season at York ran 3rd, start issue, held back and made up some group, hung left and didn’t have anything at the end.

Long break between races for last to prior race.

Should improve off that run and Ryan Moore rides

16 – Cemhaan – Draw 9

A winner of last 2, first win was at class 4 level then moved to class 2 level with a light weight

He’s run this distance 4 times with 1 win and 2 seconds

If you can duplicate the last effort, with make a placing here on his current form

13 – Contact – Draw 16

Won last 2 races at class 2 level at this distance, in light weight so penalties come with wins

First race, he lost to Get Shirty who won at Royal Ascot on Tuesday

He’s done well at this distance in the past with 5 runs 3 wins 1 second

In form and should be tough at this distance again

4:20

Coronation Stakes (Group 1) (Fillies) (British Champions Series) Cl1 (3yo) 1m

1 – Cachet – Draw 9

Won the 1000 Guineas going wire to wire and held on by a neck

Her last race, a run at ParisLongchamp running 2nd losing by a head in the group 1 at 1 mile

From her 2-year-old races to now, she stepped up big time, only one win as 2 year old but very completive races (including the BC race)

Speed, straight course again and good to firm only enhance her chances

5 – Inspiral – Draw 5

Undefeated in her only 4 starts, she’s been the favorite in every race and won by a total of 11plusL and it could have been more

First 2 starts at 7F and next 2 starts at 1 mile

She beaten many in this field but that’s as a 2-year-old, they matured and so did she, now how good?

7 – Pizza Bianca – Draw 7

All her races at either 8 or 8.5F, winner of the BC races

2 starts this season, won at Pimlico and beaten at AQU by a good horse in Consumer Spending

Jose Ortiz over to ride and should be interesting if the up to the challenge of this level of a field of really good 3 years.

5:00

Sandringham Stakes (Fillies) Cl2 (3yo 0-105) 1m

10 – Lullaby – Draw 23

Won nothing in 3 races as a 2-year-old and none of the races were good.

Put way and came back in 3-year-old debut and won by a neck at Leopardstown, when wire to wire

Then she was too aggressively places in group 3 and then a group 1, she finished last and was eased.

Class 2 a better spot to start again, I think and see what you’ve got

2 – Zanbaq – Draw 17

Won last start in novice with some issues early, moved better and won by 1 1/4L as the favorite.

Her previous races was running 3rd in a listed race, it wasn’t a better effort but maybe too much to ask too soon

Maiden win on the AW

Her 2 wins are at 7F so let’s see if she can step up off those efforts

13 – Golden Spice – Draw 7

Started out on AW and finally won after 3 tries at Southwell and then won again. 2 more placings in handicaps at Lingfield they moved her to the turf.

She won a handicap at Newmarket and then won at Leicester.

All her races at 7F and is a front runner

Steps up in class but she undefeated on the turf and has good chances to win again.

5:35

King Edward VII Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) Cl1 (3yo) 1m4f

5 – Ottoman Fleet – Draw 5

Won listed race at Newmarket going 10F last out in May by 1/2L, stumbled at the start but got it together to finish strongly

Maiden race was a good test at 11F, move up all along in the race, shifted right late on and just missed by a neck.

2 races only have been good overall and will improved here

4 – Lysander – Draw 6

Won novice at Newcastle going 10F after running 3rd at 8F at Newbury as a 2-year-old.

Ran in listed company in last race on soft going to run 3rd by ¾L at 11F. Move to 2nd late on and was outpaced late on. Useful race and should improve off that race.

6 – Savvy Victory – Draw 2

Placed in all of his 2-year-old races and finally won on 3-year-old debut by 2 1/2L going 10F. The 2-year-old races were at 8F

Short field race in group 3 at Chester, he ran 3rd at big odds but was forward in most of the race

Last race ran 3rd to my top choice and was slow starting and race in the back before ridden up to try and challenge but didn’t have the pace to do so.

A better start and settle into stride early should see better results

6:10

Palace Of Holyroodhouse Stakes Cl2 (3yo 0-105) 5f

1 – Ruthin – Draw 17

Won at Keeneland in April 2021 big by 6L as the favorite

Ran at Royal Ascot in listed race, running a very poor 7th of 27 but never got into the race

In April 2022, would in minor stakes by a neck at 5 1/2F and this was her first start of the year. Only 3 races, 2 wins

Improvement and may this Wesley Ward horse has a chance here?

15 – Romantic Time – Draw 29

Ok 4th last out in class 3 handicap behind recent winner Harry Three

Toss the AW race

Ran in group company without success in April vs future classic winner Cachet

And nothing in group2 race at Newmarket

But she is a group3 winner at 6F at big price

Better last and should show better here if signs of improvement are true
