We’re back at Parx Racing with nine more races Tuesday, and while there are a few short fields on the card, we’re hoping that doesn’t automatically mean short prices.
Yesterday gave us a pretty clear handicapping clue: speed was the way to go. Horses that could get forward and secure good early position held a definite advantage, so one of today’s biggest questions is whether that trend carries over.
Rich and Terry will put the Smart Sheets to work looking at % Chance to Lead, Early Pace, C-Zone, SIM Speed, SIM Odds and Total Pace to identify the horses most likely to take advantage if speed continues to rule.
Short fields can make finding value tougher, so this may be a day where we have to get creative — finding the right exacta combinations, identifying a vulnerable favorite or simply waiting for the races where the price justifies the play.
