Stephen Got Even Dies At Age 23 – Horse Racing News – Paulick Report

Stephen Got Even, a millionaire and Grade 1-winning son of A.P. Indy, has died at age 23 at Lane’s End Farm. He stood at Lane’s End from 2001 through 2015 and retired from stud alongside his sire.

Stephen Got Even, raced by Stephen and Tomisue Hilbert, was an outstanding racehorse, having won the Grade 1 Donn Handicap and earning $1,019,200 during his racing career.

He is the sire of the champion 2-year-old colt Stevie Wonderboy and Grade 1 winners First Dude and I Want Revenge.

Bred by W. S. Farish and W. S. Kilroy, Stephen Got Even was foaled at Lane’s End Farm and sold to Stephen and Tomisue Hilbert at the 1997 Keeneland July Yearling Sale. Following his stellar racing career, he returned to Lane’s End to stand at stud. Stephen Got Even will be greatly missed at the farm and will be remembered for his kind disposition. He will be buried in the cemetery at Lane’s End.
