Tampa Bay Downs Race 7 – $100,000 PELICAN STAKES
4 – Bank On Shea has finished in the money six out of seven races during his career, winning four of the races. He has a highest speed figure at today’s distance and has a bullet 3F workout on (Feb-07).
3 – Baby Yoda ran 2nd in last race, the G1 Malibu. He has the highest last race speed rating. Drops in class today, has the highest speed figure at today’s distance and his best dirt speed is fastest among today’s starters.
6 – Cajun Casanova won his last race at Tampa Bay Downs easily. He likes the distance finishing in the money 75% of the time, winning 50% of the races. He has the high % winning Jockey Pablo Morales and trainer Jose Delgado who in the last 14 days has this record (7 3-2-0).
5 – Pudding likes the track winning four out of nine starts and the distance finishing in the money nine out of thirteen races.

2 – Nest has won two out of her three career races the last one a G2 affair and has high % winning trainer Todd Pletcher. She drops in class today and her best dirt speed is fastest among today’s starters.
3 – Alittleloveandluck is going for a hat trick after winning her last two races. He has the highest last race speed rating (tie) and has a Sharp 4F workout (Feb-05).
6 – Peaceful Surprise won her debut race at Tampa Bay Downs while being well bet in debut. She has a high % winning trainer and Jockey.
8 – Princess Elin won her debut race at Tampa Bay Downs at 6-furlongs and now stretches out to 1-Mile-40yds and has a good 5F workout (Feb-05).
Tampa Bay Downs Race 10 – $250,000 SAM F DAVIS STAKES – GRADE III
7 – Make It Big has won all three of his career races. He can either lead all the way or come from off the pace to win.
4 – Golden Glider is undefeated in 2 career starts winning the last race at Tampa Bay Downs and has a good 4F workout on (Feb-04).
3 – Classic Causeway ran second in his last race a G2 event as the favorite but the trainer wins 27% of the time when bringing a beaten favorite back to race.
12 – Kitten Mischief ran 2nd in his last race at Gulfstream and has a good 4F workout on (Feb-05).

Tampa Bay Downs Race 7 – $100,000 PELICAN STAKES
PACE PROJECTION: Lots of speed in the race but never horse with speed needs the lead. The two inside horses #1 R Mercedes Boy ,#2 King Guillermo, and the outside horse #7 Boca Boy appear to be ones that need the lead so they’ll be gunning it from the start.
#3 Baby Yoda- Has some of the best numbers in here. He owns the two highest Beyer numbers in the field by far. Last race in the Malibu finished second losing by 11 lengths but that was behind the winner Flightline. Has speed but doesn’t need the lead which will be perfect in here. Jose Ortiz has won two of his 4 starts on this horse.
#4 Bank On Shea- Has won 4 of 7 career races and the last one you can throw out because he was on an 8 month layoff. Showed speed and faded. 2nd start after that kind of layoff should be ready to fire here. He’s another one that got speed but could sit off he had too.
#5 Pudding- Could be the horse to really benefit from the potential hot pace. This horse loves Tampa Bay winning 4 of 9 races and only finishing out of the money twice. Would like even more if he had higher percentage connections.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 8 – $150,000 SUNCOAST STAKES
PACE PROJECTION: Not much speed in this race. Looks like #4 Mining Chrome will get the early lead. He got it last race and faded. He wired the field in his maiden win.
#2 Nest- Has won 2 of 3 career races both wins had Irad Ortiz Jr. like he does here. Only horse in the field with 3 Beyer numbers over 70 and he’s only had 3 career races. The only other one with more than one has two is #3 Alittleloveandluck but those numbers came on turf and synthetic. Todd Pletcher is 5 for 12 at Tampa Bay so far this year and his horses have only been out of the exacta only 1 time in those 12 races.
#4 Mining Chrome- Looks to be the only horse in the field that wants the lead so might get it easily. Only time he got an early lead was his first start and it resulted in his only win. Returns to dirt after two tries on the turf.
#5 Mirth ‘n Merriment- Has been working out really well since last race which could result in the horse being part of the pace. Returns to the dirt after racing on the synthetic and turf. Has only one race on a fast dirt track and it was a 5 furlong race. Hopefully Saturday catches another fast track and he should like the extra distance. Only win was at the mile distance on synthetic.

Tampa Bay Downs Race 10 – $250,000 SAM F DAVIS STAKES – GRADE III
PACE PROJECTION: There is a bunch of speed in this race. Really hard to tell who will end up with it. It will be up to the jockeys to decide who really wants the early lead and who’s getting it. Some closers are in here are hoping there are multiple.
#8 Shipsational- Has won 3 of 4 career races. Has won on a sloppy track and a fast track. Has won at 3 different distances and will try a 4th here. Has been off for over 3 months but look at those workouts. This horse is ready to go. Has speed to get a forward position but doesn’t need the lead.
#7 Make It Big- 3 for 3 lifetime and is still figuring it out. Beyer number has improved every race. Drifted out first career race. Second race broke awkwardly. Third race had to go 4 wide and he has won them all. Stretched out from 7 furlongs to a mile last race. This time needs another 1/16 shouldn’t be a problem.
#3 Classic Causeway- The most battle tested horse in the field as this horse has already ran in the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Futurity and the Grade 2 Jockey Club. Didn’t win those races but did get a second and third and ran well. Has Irad Ortiz Jr. and will be trying this distance for the 3rd race in a row.
