Race 1- LIFE ON THE EDGE
This horse doesn’t have much speed sprinting on the dirt, so 5-1/2 isn’t my preference for this horse but with a 4 horse field I’m going to have to be aggressive and try to be within a couple lengths of the lead. I think I should be able to be right there at the wire.
Race 3- YANKEE JOE
I expected this horse to show more speed last time but he’s pretty green when horses get around him and he didn’t want to go early. I expect him to be back tonight again but hopefully I can let him settle a little closer and make a big run like last time. I don’t see why he can’t win with a good trip tonight with a little added distance
Race 4- BESS
She’s all race horse, small field changes things a little but I expect the 2 to go to the lead so I’m going to break running and try to put some pressure on her early if I’m doing it comfortable. If the 3 decides to send also then I will just sit 3rd and hope they wear each other out. I know If I’m in range at the 1/4 then bess will do everything she can to win!
Race 6- STCHEL TO RITCHES
This is a pick up mount so I don’t know anything about him. It looks like I can sit close with the amount of speed in the race, especially from the outside post and make a run at them
Race 8- MITTENS AND MUCKLUCKS
This filly really has no speed, I except to be last down the backside. Maybe have one horse beat. I’ll have to get after her around the half mile pole to be able to make the ground up. She always gives me a big run so I hope we can repeat that tonight. She really hangs on her left lead down the lane which I think has kept her from having better results. I’ll do my best to get her to switch tonight but I’m not going to cost myself momentum while doing so!
